1. Verification of theories.
2. Verifiication of models
3. Measure responce to treatment methods
4.Designing tests to measure IQ, personality and the presence of pathalogical symptoms/conditions.
5. To give a general picture of how a society functions.
6. To help measure the prevelence of a suspected disorder in a society.
7. To give an idea of the severity of an indiividuals thought disorder.
8. To compare different societies and the prevelnce of disorders within them
9. to compare different forms of the same disorder, such as drug abuse with different drugs of choice,
10. To monitor the progress of an people within a society who suffer a disorder that is left unchecked.

Statistics are a vital tool in psychology.
